Mayercraft iMix
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with some of the music taking place on Even Craftier, here's a handpicked selection of my favorite tracks from each artist coming aboard. These songs were carefully sequenced for a most enjoyable listen so try to avoid that shuffle button. You can grab it on iTunes, too.I should probably also point out that most of these songs would make great additions to any sort of Valentines day-esque mixtape for your significant other. Just in case you're running out of ideas!
John Mayer - Covered In Rain (Live In Birmingham)
If you don't know, now you know.
Guster - Come Downstairs and Say Hello (Live)
Guster on Ice helped define college for me. What better way to get through those 4 years than with the words "Be calm, be brave, it'll be ok"...
O.A.R. - This Town
O.A.R.'s set at Bonnaroo 2008 kept everyone on their feet during the last day of the festival. It was a great way to end the weekend and I have no doubt that this band will rock the Lido Deck in March. Absolutely can't wait.
Jessie Baylin - Leave Your Mark
I couldn't be happier that Jessie will be on MCC 2. The bluesy guitar parts on this track mixed in with the strings and Brett Dennen's background vocals make for one hell of a beautiful song.
David Ryan Harris - Pretty Girl
One of my favorite moments while Mayercraftin' last year was when David and Bob Reynolds teamed up to cover Les McCann's "Compared To What". That man has some serious soul power.
Brendan James - All I Can See
"I'll never rest until I've seen all I can see." Me either.
Martin Sexton - Hallelujah (Live)
MCC 1 favorite Martin Sexton is back! I love his record "Live Wide Open". It shows you so many levels of Martin's music - this is the soft acoustic side.
Matt Hires - You Are the One (Live from the Hotel CafÈ)
Matt just released his first EP on iTunes and I get this song stuck in my head probably once a week.
Erin McCarley - Lovesick Mistake
The first time I heard Erin's music, this song was an instant favorite. I love the way the music picks up during the chorus and right before the bridge - almost like the lyrics are persuading the instruments.
Pictures and Sound - It's You
Former Blue Merle frontman Luke Reynolds returns with Pictures and Sound. Melodic pop that makes me wish I was driving to the beach with my surfboard and all my windows down.
Justin Nozuka - Be Back Soon
Really diggin' this bluesy, acoustic guitar driven tune. I'm excited to see what this Mayercraft newb brings to the table.
Ryan Shaw - Do the 45
I think we should have a dance contest on board to find out who can do the best 45. Winner gets a pina colada on me!
James Hunter - The Hard Way
James Hunter has that Sam Cooke vibe that reminds me so much of riding around in the car with my mom when I was younger listening to "Wonderful World".
John Mayer feat. DJ Logic - Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)
Live from the '04 summer tour. Classic Marvin Gaye with a little scratchy-scratch from Logic.
